Off Season

Hi guys!! I am beyond blessed that I made Role Call this morning and that I get another chance to share the good news and gospel of Jesus Christ!  In some of my previous blogs, I have mentions the word, seasons.  I wanted to dedicate a blog specifically to this topic.  Lets get into it!

When I think of seasons, I think about sports and the four seasons that deal with the weather.  I also think about how the author of Ecclesiastes had a lot to say about seasons.  I encourage everyone to read the Book of Ecclesiastes.  As Christians, we have two key seasonsoff season and in season.  You may ask what do I mean by this?  Off Season for Christians is when everything is going well; we are coasting through life.  We may even have the attitude of the two baseball players that are featured in the image I used for this blog-we are very relaxed.  We still go to church and pray but our hunger and thirst for Christ isn’t what it used to be because He brought us out of our storm.  In Season is when things are rough and we are going through some things.

Y’all know how we do!!  We cry out to God and ask for His deliverance from our crisis day in and day out.  As soon as He delivers us, we “calm” down again…  We say thank you Lord!!  We began to pray less.  Our head is not in the game like it once was because we feel that we don’t have to be.  He brought us out right?  So that means we can slack in our worship and praise?  We are so wrong!  We must continuously play everyday of our lives in this battle field called life!  We don’t have off seasons as born again believers in Christ.  During our so-called off season, is when we should pray MORE and dig DEEPER into our daily Word of God!  We don’t have time to let the enemy come in.  We must dress appropriately each day we go out on the battlefield.

The Bible says in Ephesians 6:11 “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wile of the devil.” (KJV)  The enemy will attempt to catch us off guard if we are not dressed properly.  Ephesians 6:14-18 states “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.  And the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:  Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” (KJV)

The Bible doesn’t tell us to put on the whole armour of God every other day or once  a week.  Then He tells us to pray always with supplication in the Spirit.  No matter what season we may feel that we are in, we must continuously pray without ceasing!  We must give Him thanks and Honor no matter the situation or the season we are in.  Lord have mercy on us!!  Could we imagine if Jesus took a day off?!  Or better yet!  Had a season where he took a “break” from us?!  No way could I imagine this!  I’m so thankful we serve a God who is always there no matter the time, hour or situation!  I’m so thankful for His undying/unfailing LOVE 🙂  There is no way we could EVER repay Him for all that He has done but what we can do is serve Him daily and constantly ask for more of Him and less of us!  He deserves all the praise and so much more!  No matter what season you’re in, praise Him.  He cares.

Jesus is Love
