Prayer Time

Hi guys!  I hope that everyone is having an awesome weekend and Saturday 🙂  The weather is still so beautiful here in Dallas, TX!  I’m absolutely loving it!!  So the topic of prayer has definitely been on my mind a ton lately!!  But more than anything, I’m wondering how much we pray for others?  How many times has our friend or associate asks you to pray for them and you said okay, but didn’t.  How many times has an enemy done us wrong and instead of praying for them, we called our friends to complain and gossip about them?  The Holy Spirit convicted me this week.  He said, “Chelsea, have you asked me about this situation?  Have you tried calling on me?”

Earlier this week, a situation occurs where it immediately had me stressed!  Instead of seeking God first with prayer, I called mother.  She was not able to pick up the phone.  In that moment the Holy Spirit told me that there is nothing wrong with calling your mom, father or someone else of wise counsel… but you should try me first.  My phone line is open 24 hours a day.  The Bible says in John 14:18 “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.”  John 14:26 says, “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Jesus said that He would send us a Comforter to teach of all things.  We should rest in the fact that we can go to Him in prayer and he will guide us in our decision making and in life.  Matthew 5:44 says, “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”  So many times, we find ourselves feeling some type of way because someone we thought was our friend did us wrong, purposefully looked over us for a promotion, slandered our name, cheated on us, embarrassed us or whatever the case may be.  Every time I think about someone who has done me wrong, I try to pray for them and ask that God bless them, guide/protect them and touch their hearts.  Could you imagine how different our perspective would be if every time we thought about such hurtful things, we prayed instead of gossiped?  A lot different.

Lets remember that when people ask for us to pray for them, to pray for them.  Lets begin to go to God with ALL of our situations and not just the ones that we feel are too difficult for us to handle.  Lets get back to praying!!  Their is power in the name of JESUS.  I know this from experience.  He can change things in your life.  Prayer changes things.

P.S.  I bought gospel singer, Tasha Cobbs, GRACE, CD this week, and have been totally WRECKED!!  She is beyond anointed 🙂

Jesus is Love,

Chelsea
