Quiet Time With JESUS

Hi guys!!

I absolutely LOVE to spend Quiet Time with Jesus.  I got this idea from author, blogger, preacher, mother and wife, Heather Lindsey!!  Subscribe to her on YouTube.  She is such an inspirational person with a heart of gold for Christ!!  She and her husband, Corneilus Lindsey, preacher, (He also has a Youtube Channel) travel the world to share the gospel of Jesus Christ!  They have a church in Atlanta, GA, The Gathering Oasis.  She said everyday she has quiet time with Jesus.  Quiet time is basically when you spend time with Jesus through prayer and reading His Holy Word.

You can turn on Gospel music and worship his Holy name!!  I do that A LOT!!  Lord knows I love me a good Gospel song.  I have been stuck on “Break Every Chain” and “For your Glory” by Tasha Cobbs lately!!  Whew! That young lady and song is beyond annointed.  Oh yeah, Gaye Arbuckle is another powerful Gospel artists.  These are just a few songs/artists that touch my heart deeply:)  You talk to him and cry out to Him and cast all of your burdens at His feet!!  It is such an awesome experience.  I also have the Bible App on my phones, so I love to do Plans; they help tremendously.

You can go out on dinner dates with Jesus or take your Bible with you to Barnes and Noble or go where you feel the most comfortable!  Personally, I like to stay home and turn my TV off so that I can talk to Him and He can talk back to me and I can fully hear His voice!!  I sometimes include Biblical movies into my routine!  I LOVE the Disney Biblical stories.  I recently watch, Joseph and The Book of Daniel on Netflix- oh yeah and the story of Moses.  They were all so awesome!!  I am a visual person, so I love when I can actually see a story that I have read in the Bible on TV.

However you choose to spend time with Him, just make sure you are spending time with Him 🙂  He longs for your attention and for you to ask Him what you should do rather than calling that friend all the time for advice.  The BEST wise counsel comes from Him.  Now don’t get me wrong.  I am not saying don’t call your mom or a close friend but sometimes those people we are seeking advice from are not on the same page as we are (meaning they are not getting the advice and wise counsel from HIM).  Even if we go to a friend for advice, we must seek Him first!!  Matthew 6:33 says. “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (KJV)

If we seek Him first, then He will direct our paths.  In the past, I would always go to friends or people I thought would give me advice knowing that they were not getting their wise counsel from God.  It is so important that we surround ourselves with Prayer warriors and wise counsel. Everyone does not need to know your business!  Be careful who you invite into your storm.  Trust me.  Everyone is NOT rooting for you.  Some people will give you bad counsel just to trip you up or temp you or see you fail.

I know our schedules can be beyond hectic, but we must make sure that He not only one of our top priorities on on long list of things to.  We must know that He is the LIST and everything else.  He is everything always and forever!  Bless His Holy name 🙂

God loves you so much!!

Chelsea
