Singleness and Marriage

Hello everyone!!  I hope that everyone had an amazing Christmas and a Happy New Year 🙂  I had the chance to spend time with my  family and friends, so my holiday was truly special!!  Being that we are coming fresh into the new year, I wanted to start off the beginning of the year continuing with our series on Singleness….

Now, by the title of this blog, you may be wondering how can both go together?  Or how do they correlate?  It’s simple.  What you do in your singleness can/will impact your oneness with your husband!

For example, if we are disciplined in our walk with the Lord (spending time with daily through prayer/thanksgiving, tithes/offering, studying the Word, attending church, etc.), then we will be the same way in our marriage.  We will also be so involved with our Lord and Savior that we will attract who we are.  Let me be clear.  I am not saying to spend time with God just so we can attract a man of God (we should spend time with Him simply because of who He is, if we don’t EVER get married), but I am saying that your good spirit will attract other good spirits in Christ.

True story.…  In the past, I would wear what I thought to be sexy dresses and I would go out and take pictures and put them on Instagram.  The Holy spirit convicted me so tough one day about the clothes I was wearing… He said, “Chelsea, you pray to me for a husband,a man of God.  You say that your want to be celibate until you are married.  How can this be when your clothes speak lust and other options contrary to celibacy and being married to a born again Christian?”

Baby!! When I tell you that this spoke to me so, I took EVERY single picture down off of my Instagram page that I though was the slightest distasteful.  Now, am I saying you can’t be “cute” or that your have to make sure that your ears aren’t even showing when you walk out the house LOL NO!  Absolutely not!  But be classy.  Nothing more classy and tasteful than a woman and man with class 😉

My father in Christ told me that he has a man who is looking for a wife who desires to honor my body and love me just life Christ loves the Church. “Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word.” Ephesians 5:25-26 (KJV)  Ladies, these men do exist 🙂  Why would our Father say these things to us if He didn’t create any men like this!! I don’t know about you, but I can honestly say that I believe this and everything that He has ever told me.

The moral of the story, we must be mindful of the vibes we put out.  If we are praying for a husband (the husband God has for us, not someone else’s husband, Ephesians 5:22 “Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.” (KJV), then we must prepare ourselves as wives.  We must truly desire to be a Proverbs 31 woman.

P.S. Just a little verse to meditate on…. 1 Corinthians 6:18 “Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.” (KJV)
