Singleness and Sex…

Hello Beautiful ladies!!  My prayer is that everyone is having a great week so far 🙂  If you have been keeping up with my blog, then you know that we have been diving into the subject of singleness.…the Holy Spirit placed it on my heart to talk about Singleness and Sex.  You may wonder how the two mix; well, they DON’T!!  Lets get right into it!!

While you are single (unmarried), sex should not play apart during the time you are single until you get married.  Pause.  Can we be honest?  This can be a difficult task.  Although this task (at times) may not be the easiest thing to do, it is a must!  Sometimes, it seems like as SOON as you decided to not have sex and honor your body through Christ…well, that’s when you see your ex-boyfriend (and he is looking better than the last time you saw him).  Or you hear some R.Kelly, “Seems like you’re ready” play on your Pandora accidentally (even though you had it on greatest gospel hits station LOL).  It’s like, Lord help me!! I want to honor you and my body, for this body is not my own…but there are so many obstacles being thrown my way.

Ladies, when we feel that we are growing weak in whatever area in our lives, we must fall on our face before God and ask Him to strengthen us; He will do just that 🙂

I soon realized in order for me to honor my body through Christ and to stay out of a young man’s bed, I had to watch where I went, what music I listened, consumption of alcohol.  Now, some of you may say, I don’t need to do all of that.  I can still go to the club with my short dress and listen to promiscuous songs while my ex-boyfriend is there whom I still have feelings for, take a few shots of Patron and not slip up and have sex OR do things that may lead to sex………Hmmmmm okay.  Maybe.

But why should we set ourselves up for possible failure?  I’m not saying you can’t go anywhere or do anything….but I am saying be careful of the things you do and don’t do.  You know your limitations and what can make you stray back to your old ways!! Humph!  I know I do.

I decided a while back that I did not want another man to see me with no clothes on other than my husband.  This eerie picture came into my mind of me getting married and a crazy amount of guys sniggling and giggling saying, “I know what he has…..”  I just don’t want that for myself.  I honestly cannot express to you how beautiful I think it is for a man and woman to come together and court and have sex with each other for the first time on their wedding night.

I think there is something so intimate and sacred about being that disciplined and honorable toward each other… I mean, could you imagine that?  I surely can!  Ladies!  It’s worth the wait 🙂  It’s worth sharing something with a guy who you have prayed for and God has blessed you with.  I’m not talking about the guy that hurts to all the time.  I’m talking about the guy that chases after God and His plan for his life and wants to draw you even closer to the Lord than what you already are.  The guy who will love you unconditionally with loyalty and respect.  Yeah, it may be difficult at times, but it’s worth it 🙂

A few scriptures to meditate on….

1 Thessalonians 4:1-7, Finally, dear brothers and sisters, we urge you in the name of the Lord Jesus to live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you.  You live in a way that pleases God, as we have taught you.  You live this way already, and we encourage you to do so even more.  For you remember what we taught you by the authority of the Lord Jesus.  God’s will is for you to be holy, so stay away from all sexual sin.  Then each of you control his own body and live in holiness and honor-not in lustful passion like the pagans who do know God and his ways.  Never harm or cheat a fellow believer in this matter by violating  his wife, for the Lord avenges all such sins, as we have solemnly warned you before.  God has called us to live holy lives, not impure lives. (NLT)

2 Peter 2:9, The Lord knoweth how to deliver the godly out of temptations, and to reserve the unjust unto the day of judgement to be punished.
