Singleness and The Holidays

Hey guys!! I hope all is well with everyone 🙂  It has been on my heart for the past couple of days to make a post about the holidays since Christmas is next week!!!! Can you believe that?!!  Geesh!  This year went by super fast for me.  I wanted to give a little encouragement to all of my single ladies out there (including myself lol).

It dawns on me that even though the Holidays are great and we get to spend time with loved ones, it can also appear to be sad because we do not have anyone.  Three major holidays are coming up: Christmas, New Years and Valentine’s Day.  Be cautious of who you allow into your thoughts and your spirit during these seasons and know that everything is not always what it appears to be. (all the relationships that we see are not as healthy as they appear to be).

Be careful not to let your family’s questions of “when you getting married?”  “You haven’t found a man yet,”  and “what happened to that young man that you were talking to?” flood your thoughts.  Your answer should be, “when god brings me my husband, then that is when I will have a husband.  Until then, I’m staying in His Word and in prayer not only for myself but for my family as well.”

Often times we look at our friends, co-workers and family members and we want to want to live the lives that they live with their significant other.  We see the Valentine’s Day gifts they get, the Christmas gifts and how they supposedly kiss at 12AM on New Year’s Day.  Then we make up in our minds that we are now sad because we don’t have that.  We totally forget about who we do have- Focus on Christ!! Like I said, often times a lot of these relationships are not what they appear to be and a lot of couples are just in the relationship because it is something to do not because they prayed for God to bless them with the right person in due time!

Trust and believe that God has your best interest at heart and he wants what is best for you 🙂  He hears your prayers for that Godly man!  He sees that you have been celibate and your heart’s desire is to wait until your wedding night!!  He also sees and hears you when you cry… but can I tell you that he is working out everything for your good?!

Can I tell you that someone is watching you right now (you don’t even know who it is) and they are being encouraged by your walk with Christ??  Can I tell you that during this holiday season, we have so much to be grateful for and we should not be upset or in our feelings because God has not brought us a husband!  God’s timing is perfect and I can’t wait to see what he does in my life even outside of marriage; I know he has great things in store for me and for you 🙂

Don’t let the pressure of your family make you feel some type of way.  Keep on pushing!!  Also, keep in mind that you can flee away from sexual sin!!  You can Honor your body through Christ!! The Lord has someone so special for you!!

Merry Christmas!!!!!

Jesus is Love,

Chelsea
