The Holidays are Here!!

Hi guys!!  It’s been many moons since I have blogged so I am very excited to write!  The holidays are here and I am beyond excited!  Being able to spend quality time with family and friends and eat to our heart’s desire is so fulfilling to me 🙂  I’m beginning to listen to my Christmas music and drink my hot chocolate; I just purchased my eggnog today.  It’s a little chilly here in Dallas, so my heat is on blast and I’m burning my seasonal candles.  I’ve also begun to put up my Christmas decorations.  Needless to say, I am getting ready for the holidays because the holidays are definitely here.

I can’t help but to think of how we should all celebrate Thanksgiving on a daily basis and not take anyone or any day for granted.  We worry about the next day when its not even promised to us.  We worry about our bills and our finances and our health when God has told us to cast ALL of our cares on Him.

I’m just grateful to have another day here, to finally be employed and to be able to laugh, smile and live.  I’m so glad that Jesus was born and that he died for my sins and rose on the third day…. I’m grateful that I serve a living God.  He hears all of my prayers and supplications; He never sleeps nor slumbers… I’m grateful.  I was talking with my Dad the other day and I told Him that I couldn’t imagine if God did sleep or slumber.  I mean, could you imagine that?!  What a scary thought.  I’m so elated that He watches over me while I am sleep and protects me at night.

I‘m reminded of Psalm 116:1-2, “I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.  Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.” (KJV)  I love Psalms and especially Psalm 116.  Let us remember the reason for all of our seasons not just Thanksgiving and Christmas.  Jesus is the true reason for the season.  With that being said, lets go into the Holidays with a good heart and with forgiveness and love.

Talk to those you haven’t see in a while.  Reach out to others and ask if they need anything.  Make a donation.  We are servants here on this Earth wanting and willing to help others anyway that we can.  Even if it’s not monetary, we can give our time or an encouraging Word.  The Bible says in Proverbs, 16:24, “Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”  Lets be gentle with our words toward others and bring people closer to Christ by our actions.

Lets start the Holidays off right 🙂

Jesus is Love,

Chelsea
